Welcome to the Peach Fuzz!

Dear Coach:

Welcome back to the 2019-20 school year.  We hope you are as excited as we are about the coming forensics season!  To get the season rolling, the Carrollton High School Speech and Debate Team invites you to the Peach Fuzz Speech and Debate Tournament to be held at Carrollton High School.  Please join us for competition, fun, and hospitality on September 7, 2019.

We have designed this tournament to be a learning experience for our beginning debaters, speakers, and coaches.  We encourage oral critiques that are supportive and motivating. Judges should give the debater time for questions and answer to ensure a positive learning experience for the beginning debater.

We are offering the following events:

Extemporaneous Speaking

Impromptu Speaking

Original Oratory

Dramatic Interpretation

Humorous Interpretation

DUO Interpretation

Program Oral Interpretation

Saturday 8:00 a.m - 8:30 a.m.- Registration - Carrollton High School (Lobby) 201 Trojan Drive - Parking across the street.

Saturday 8:30 a.m.- General Meeting, Carrollton High School Cafeteria

Saturday 8:45 a.m. - Round 1, All Events  

Saturday 10:30 a.m.- Round 2, All Events  

Saturday 12:00 p.m. - Lunch

Saturday 1:00 p.m. - Round 3, All Events  

Saturday 2:30 p.m. - Round 4, All Events  

Saturday 4:30 p.m. - Awards  

*All IEs will follow NFL rules.  Each school should supply one judge for every four persons debating. One judge should be provided per five IEs. Participation is limited to four teams per debate and 6 entries in IE.  Lincoln Douglas, Policy Debate, and Public Forum, may not double enter. However, IE's may double enter in other individual events. There will be a reception area with concessions and a fully staffed coaches lounge. Our goal is to make the tournament one of the best possible experiences for all who attend.
